A service that provides information and assistance to the users of a computer network, where a person can call with questions and concerns about contact information for various departments on campus.

A help desk is an information and assistance resource that troubleshoots problems with computers and similar products. Web hosting providers often provide help desk support to their customers via a toll-free number and/or website. There are also in-house help desks geared toward providing the same kind of help for employees only.

A typical web hosting help desk has several functions. It provides the users a central point to receive help on various computer issues. The help desk typically manages its requests via help Desk software that allows them to track user requests with a unique ticket number.

Help desk software is a system where customers can submit their trouble/issues, a department within a company then solves the troubles and responds to customer's questions. Questions and reponses can be delivered via web ticket support software and email. It other words, It helps customers who can simply submit an inquiry to the appropriate department and expect a timely response. With the use of this product the customer and technical support staff are better able to manage troubleshooting.
