Though the SERP ranking may not be relevant to your domain the page rank, especially the homepage rank is influenced by domain. However, the websites of the organization or product which has already a brand value and people come it through direct visits will get ranking quicker.

One of the many factors in Google's search engine algorithm is the age of a domain name. In a small way, the age of a domain gives the appearance of longevity and therefore a higher relevancy score in Google.

Old domains are great to own even if they don't have back links, old domains with keywords in them will rank faster then a new domain name will. Great old domains are now starting to become available the domain "Directoryscript.com" just sold today for $200. Emachine.com and DomainWorks.com just recently expired too.

Based on my observation domain age does not mean crap however if you have a NEW domain i.e less than 6 months its slightly harder to rank higher but its more about age of backlinks the older the site the older the backlinks and the higher you rank

1. Reputation + Traffic
2. Appearance

E.g. if you were planning to go for fast food at midnight, usually you will chose McDonald, KFC, etc instead going to the not branded stall..

A domain is only as important as it's backlinks are. Having the keyword in the domain is a big plus.A Domain Name Age with a website is important in regards to searches. I have a .com.au that was registered in 1998 and then
created a website. The age of the domain name and PageRank of the site adds value.

One of the many factors in Google's search engine algorithm is the age of a domain name.
In a small way, the age of a domain gives the appearance of longevity and therefore a higher relevancy score in Google.

The age of the website is built up of how long the content has been actually on the web, how long the site has been in promotion, and even the last time content was updated. The length of time a domain has been registered is measured by not only the actual date the domain was registered, but also how long it is registered for. Some domains only register for a year at a time, while others are registered for two, five, or even ten years.

The age of the domain is built up of how long the content has been actually on the web, how long the site has been in promotion, and even the last time content was updated.
So the age of the domain name plays a vital role in ranking........
If you are having an old domain name...........that adds more credibility to your search engine rankings..
especially Google gives more importance to domain age...........
So using this site WhoisXY.com/ (http://www.whoisxy.com/) , you can gather the information of the domain name creator and owner of the domain name also it displays the information of the domain name that is when is expired & created........its a easy way to find the age of domain name.........

Yes, domain age is really important because google's algorithm checks domain expiration date and if the age is less, it considers that the user may shut down business or site soon. That is why it is important for business and ecommerce sites to register domain for a longer period of time.

An older domain age competes for rankings a bit better. Some SEO professionals simply won’t work with brand new domains, as google further explained.

Domain Authority and page authority matters, but not that how old it is. if fresh content is updated consistently and pages are optimizd properly then age of the domain is less of an important factor, though old domains are supposed to have developed high domain authority and that is why they are considered reputable.

Well, a domain is as important as key words and back links for a web site. if you have a domain which carry your main keyword its no doubt that its a plus point for your web SEO. A Domain Name Age with a website is important in regards to searches. Your domain name and and PR adds values to your web reputation.

Domain age is only one of the factors that Google considers when ranking a website. According to me a Domain with an active website which is as old as 6 months to 1 year should be enough to start getting some traffic from Google. Some people tend to buy older domains which are registered several years ago at fancy prices to get quick traffic. This makes no good as they do not have any active websites for several years. Therefore instead of relying on the domain age which is a factor way beyond our control, one can look at other ranking factors such as on-site optimization and link building that play prominent role in bringing traffic to a website.

First and foremost,it is obvious that domain age is important because it is a factor in determining Google rankings, and a part of our SEO.
However, it is important to understand that a domain that’s been registered for 4 or 5 years but has no actual site up is the same as a domain that you bought yesterday. In other words, it has to have actually had a site indexed by Google and buying older domains which are registered several years ago but has nothing that Google has ever found, doesn't worth it.

Yes. Google prefers old domains if it's SEO has been already done but should have quality back-links. Therefore it's important in SEO.

roycareyou
06-29-2016, 10:46 AM
The amount of backlinks is not the issue here, it will be the quality of the links. You could have 100 times the amount of backlinks but if they are coming from forum posts, blog comments etc then they are pretty much worthless. If your competitors have gained links from high authority sites then that can equal 1,000's of your links.

Domain age really only comes into play because it has time to gain more quality links,

It is also about relevance to the keyword, are your pages and links as relevant ? for example your wanting to rank for tutor but if one of your links is from say a car sales site then its not going to help much

I think that Google gives more credibility to the older domains then the newer one. We must do hard struggle to get a decent Rank on Google because of only a New Domain. It usually takes a year and a half before Google starts recognizing your domain appropriately and trusting it.

Old areas are awesome to possess regardless of the possibility that they don't have back connections, old spaces with watchwords in them will rank quicker then another area name will. Awesome old spaces are currently beginning to end up noticeably accessible the area "Directoryscript.com" simply sold today for $200. Emachine.com and DomainWorks.com just as of late terminated as well.
