Hi there
An article is a lengthy piece of writing, written in an expert’s point of view, aimed at explaining a topic in great detail.
A blog post is a shorter piece of writing, usually in a ‘conversational’ style, aimed at updating or educating your readers, or to spark ideas and interest in your business.
Waiting for your views.

BLOG POST: Blog posts are usually shorter pieces (250-450 words) written in a conversational tone that provide tips and general information. They can be designed to spark an interest in readers to take a closer look at your services or products, or simply to share some words of wisdom. Usually they focus on the author’s point of view about a particular topic and often encourage readers’ comments, which can be just as useful as the post. The more comments a blog post generates, the more visitors you will have.
From a business perspective, blog posts are usually written to enhance SEO marketing campaigns using highly targeted keywords. For optimal effectiveness, they also have internal text links to other relevant blog posts and/or to a web page promoting a product or service.
ARTICLE: An in-depth article (500-1,500 words) quotes reliable sources, offers detailed explanations, and provides up-to-date research and statistics. While they also utilize specific keywords, they are usually a little more formal and written in a way that presents you as an expert in your field.

A Blog Post
For a piece of writing to be considered a blog post, the most important thing is that it is housed on a blog, which simply means a website or section of a website where updates are posted regularly in reverse chronological order (the most recent post appearing first).
Originally, blogs were personal in nature. Although that’s certainly not the case today, blog posts still tend to be more conversational, casual, and involve more opinion than most articles. They may directly address the reader as “you” and invite the participation of the audience, usually through comments. Blog posts also tend to be shorter than articles, usually no longer than a page and sometimes even just a single paragraph.
An Article
Articles are more likely to be fact-based – a simple reporting of the news. (Most items posted on news sites are considered articles, although some have blogs as well.) They are most often formal, structured with a clear introduction, middle, and conclusion, written in the third person, and objective in nature. However, some articles are written with the goal to change the opinion of the reader or move them to action.
Articles are more likely to include detailed research, quote authorities, and source information, and they are less likely to promote conversation or offer the ability to comment. And articles are often several pages long, though they don’t need to be.
In the end, it depends on the definition of the person using the terms. Though potentially confusing, some websites find it valuable to use the terms to differentiate the types of content they offer on their site, whether just for internal purposes or to share with their audience. If you are hiring a writer to create blog posts or articles for your site, share your definition for the term to ensure that you’re both on the same page.

I think the boundary between blog post and article is a little blurry these days...
I guess a blog can be more personal and informal. Whereas an article relates to specific topic or event and references other sources.

Articles can vary in length, and even though they are online, are designed to be printed out for leisurely reading. Blog posts are meant to be read immediately. The subject should be introduced within the headline and first sentence, and the concept within the first paragraph. As most blog readers only read the first 25% of a post, or spend an average of 96 seconds, getting the gist across at the very beginning is important to achieve your post being read in full.
