While the cloud gains steam as a mainstream technology for applications and infrastructure, questions surrounding security are often raised. Security should be a primary topic for all applications and infrastructure, regardless of where and how they are hosted.

Cloud computing is Internet- ("cloud-") based development and use of computer technology ("computing"). In concept, it is a paradigm shift whereby details are abstracted from the users who no longer have need of, expertise in, or control over the technology infrastructure "in the cloud" that supports them. Cloud computing describes a new supplement, consumption and delivery model for IT services based on the Internet, and it typically involves the provision of dynamically scalable and often virtualized resources as a service over the Internet.

The term cloud is used as a metaphor for the Internet, based on the cloud drawing used to depict the Internet in computer network diagrams as an abstraction of the underlying infrastructure it represents. Typical cloud computing providers deliver common business applications online which are accessed from a web browser, while the software and data are stored on servers.

A technical definition is "a computing capability that provides an abstraction between the computing resource and its underlying technical architecture (e.g., servers, storage, networks), enabling convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction."This definition states that clouds have five essential characteristics: on-demand self-service, broad network access, resource pooling, rapid elasticity, and measured service.

Cloud hosting provides us server clustering i.e. the resources are spread across more than one web server, and are rendered as per need.It also allows us to manage peak loads easily, without facing any bandwidth issues.

In a cloud your data is stored on several servers connected together. These servers accumulate their computing power and increase their performance thereby providing quick loading and high connection speeds.
The cloud servers may not located in the same data center and could be situated within different data centers around the world. This increases the redundancy and workload over various servers which evenly distribute that workload over multiple servers located within the cloud. So if one server fails then other servers in the cloud can handle it load and this would not affect the site’s performance.

In cloud computing instead of installing a suite of software for each computer, you'd only have to load one application. That application would allow workers to log into a Web-based service which hosts all the programs the user would need for his or her job. Remote machines owned by another company would run everything from e-mail to word processing to complex data analysis programs. On the other hand cloud hosting means that your website uses the virtual resources of several servers to accommodate all the aspects of hosting your site.

Cloud webhosting is hosting that uses the resources of several clustered servers. Basically, this means that your website uses the virtual resources of several servers to accommodate all the aspects of hosting your site. The load is balanced, security is taken care of and hardware resources are available virtually so they can be used when needed. The cluster of servers is the cloud.

The main drawback for this cloud is that, If you are running a small business these server hosting are not that much useful. It better to approach for dedicated hosting, because of less expensive compare with Cloud web hosting.

The main advantage of this cloud hosting is the "server clustering". it wont face any problems like bandwidth.

With the Cloud server you will be able to modify the server resources anytime you want this.If your server for example is overloaded and you want to add more memory ,cpu or disk space, you can just push one button and add additional resources for your server. You can also decrease the number of server resources in the same way if you see for example, that your server doesn't need 2 GB of Ram and 2 Cpu, but is working without any problems with one CPU and 1 Gb of RAM.

This is the main advantage of the Cloud technology. Moreover, with a Cloud server you get more stability and data security as your data is located on the San disk massive.

According to the web journal Web2.sys the key benefits of Cloud hosting are:

Rapid deployment. It can take a business weeks or months to role out an MDM system. Cloud-based solutions can be activated within hours. It allows you a company to rapidly deploy policies and control access with simple-click configuration and provisioning.

Flexible expense management. In most cloud-based models you pay nothing up front and pay predictable monthly service fees. Cloud models allow you to scale at your own pace the service as your business grows. If a company wants to roll out management to 50 or 500 employees at one time, it takes the same amount of IT resources and can be accomplished in the same time interval.

Device diversity. Today, many businesses supporting RIM’s Blackberry operating system and adding basic management for Apple’s iOS devices. However, it’s guaranteed that a company’s employees will be considering other operating systems such as Android and Windows Phone. A cloud based management solution will support all the operating systems.

One console to rule them all. Once you decide to support multiple operating systems, you’ll have multiple consoles. You can get a unified console view with an on-premise MDM (Mobile Device Management) solution but not until you decide to roll out the solution. With cloud mobility management, you can support iPhones and iPads on one console today and use that same console to support Android devices and whatever else comes down the road.

Near Zero-day updates. The OS landscape changes quickly. If you own your mobility management solution, you’re in charge of updating it each time a new version of an OS rolls out. Generally, IT staffs are weeks behind in supporting the newest releases of an operating system. Cloud-based providers have the service updated almost immediately.

Cloud hosting is one of the many utilizations of cloud computing technology.
Cloud computing refers to any process (ie. hosting), method or activity that involves the cloud. The cloud, on the other hand, is the virtual server or system that is accessible online, where users can store and edit files, and perform a wide variety of IT tasks. This technology uses the real cloud as a metaphor, where one can imagine storing files in it, and being able to access it anytime and anywhere as long as there is an Internet connection.

Cloud web host is the newest form of the web host who has become popular over modern times. When your site is on cloud hosting, then you will be able to have access to multiple servers and not a single one. You can also add any number of servers and scale up as you wish. This is one of the major advantages of this hosting.

Cloud hosting (http://www.cloudoye.co.uk/cloud-hosting-service) is a web hosting technique to host servers with a flexible, scalable and cost-effective approach. These websites guaranteed up time and redundant IT infrastructure. There are no fixed servers assigned to a particular website.

It exists as an alternative to hosting websites on single servers (either dedicated or shared servers) and can be considered as an extension of the concept of clustered hosting where websites are hosted on multiple servers.

Cloud computing (https://www.esds.co.in/private-cloud-hosting) can be defined as storing and accessing data and programs over the Internet instead of your computer's hard drive. The data in the cloud is stored on many physical and/or virtual servers that are hosted by a third-party service provider.

Cloud computing is not about your hard drive. The cloud is also not about having a dedicated storage hardware or server in residence. Storing data on a home or office network does not count as utilizing the cloud. For it to be considered as cloud computing, you need to access your data or your programs over the Internet.

Cloud computing helps users to access files and use applications from any device that can access the Internet.Cloud is just the metaphor for Internet.

Cloud computing can be broadly classified as:

1> IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) - Hardware hosted by a cloud service provider given for customer use using their portal. Provider hosts and manages the hardware. Customer pays for the usage.

2> SaaS (Software as a Service) - Provider hosts the software on their infrastructure and provide it as a service to customers. Provider manages either both infrastructure and software or provides only software and use some other IaaS service provider for hardware. Customer pays for the software usage.

3> PaaS (Platform as a Service) - PaaS providers provide a platform to host customer applications. These are essentially software services provided as a platform. Customer launches either enterprise application or home grown application on the PaaS platform.

The main use of Cloud Computing is :

Create new apps and services
Store, back up and recover data
Host websites and blogs
Stream audio and video
Deliver software on demand
Analyse data for patterns and make predictions
