Hi there. EMD was a great method to get higher rank in search engines. But now it has been banned by Google. According to EMD update, EMD websites are penalized by google.

Yahoo & bing have not changed this method but Google updated his algo.

Yes recently Google updated the algo and EMD are getting penalised but only when if EMD website dont have quality content or very thin!!

It has not been banned by google. There were websites with EMD that were penalized. However, that was mainly due to the low quality content of those sites.
There are various websites with good content and EMD that still rank on top positions.
The domains that were penalized is also a very low percentage.

It cannot said been banned. It only take action toward those EDM website that do not have quality content and related content with the keywords with the EDM and banned them or pull down their ranking.
It is good cause lot of people trying to rank high without quality content and some even showing not related content with the keywords.
This bring fair to everyone because lot of company using their own brandname as domain name rather than their product keywords set in the EMD
