Hi!
I own an auction site and I just ended up without administrator. I want to change hosting, but have NO IDEA what to look for. All I know is that my auction site uses things like SQL, PHP and we usually have 200-500 users at the same time. If anyone can give me advice, I would greatly apreciate it.
Thank you!

I think you should look for E-commerce hosting providers that can effectively meet your requirement including online payment solutions.

I recommend look at getting a VPS minimum!

Such sites are generally highly MYSQL query intensive, it require sufficient server resources and bandwidth, if you've limited budget I think a VPS should be good choice at the most.

VPS should be able to handle the SQL users as per you have mentioned, you can customize the mysql config to allow the connections. A mysql user connectivity of anything more than 300, might be high for shared servers.

On some shared services you might have your web site and DB hosted on the different servers.
