Yes a vps is enough for your startup. If in future you have good client base and good traffic you can move your site to dedicated or cloud hosting. But for now VPS will be fine.

Yes, VPS is Sufficient for eCommerce Business, I suggest you to go for managed VPS as a startup , where your web hosting provider will manage your VPS and they will help you out for any software installation or any other technical aspects. Once you are configurable with and can understand to manage your VPS, you can switch to unmanaged one.

I believe that Stratus4.com is a good option to deal with and get cheap VPS hosting (https://www.stratus4.com/hosting-services/virtual-private-server/) solutions along with 75% off the price on 1st month order.
I have found several coupon codes: S475OLKJ and S475OMNB. They are all limited to the first 5 people that claim them.

whats the issue of using shared hosting plans for starting an eCommerce business?. In most cases there will be application installer for zencart, magento etc and for the SSL too.

It depends on number of visitor, if you are expecting high traffic then you should go for dedicated hosting.

How many users are currently visiting your website? How much bandwidth you currently require? Will you need to install some extra application or software as well?

Sure you can work with a VPS. You can still consider a dedicated server for $50 that includes the control panel license, and you get a much more powerful server for not much more than the vps with the license add-on.
But the one site will work fine on the VPS, not a problem.
This server I’m talking about is one we offer at our site you can take a look maybe it works better for your needs.

Sure, vps would be best option to host e-commerce project. If you are in search of reliable vps host I suggest Kvchosting.com (http://kvchosting.com/). You will be pleased with their available support, solid servers and high uptime.

As an alternative option I can say VPSGet.com is the best option to get virtual server hosting solutions. Their reliability is outstanding, support is helpful and prices are reasonable.

Hi. You will find that the VPS at ImbaHost (https://billing.imbahost.com/aff.php?aff=36) will more than satisfy your needs for ecommerce hosting.

Hi,

A VPS should definitely work to run your 20 B2C ecommerce sites, since a you do have more resources with a VPS than with a shared hosting plan, plus you don't have to share your resources or your environment so your sites are more secure on a VPS.
