A firewall is a network security system designed to prevent unauthorized access to or from a private network. Firewalls can be implemented in both hardware and software, or a combination of both.

A firewall is a network security device that grants or rejects network access to traffic flows between an untrusted zone (e.g., the Internet) and a trusted zone (e.g., a private or corporate network). It can be implemented in both hardware and software, that uses rules to control incoming and outgoing network traffic.

Hardware Firewalls- It can be purchased as astand alone product but are also typically found in broadband routers, and should be considered an importnat part of your system and network setup.

Software Firewalls- It has to be installed on your computer (like any software) and you can customize it; allowing you some control over its function and protection features. A software firewall will protect your computer from outside attempts to control or gain access your computer.

I cant speak on whether or not the firewall offers any seo benefits but I would imagine it would especially if it is caching faster. However Moz has compiled a listing of algorithm updates. I would look at when your rankings started to fall and see if it matches up with the updates and check your backlink profile and do some competitor research to see if anyone is doing anything different.

A Firewall is a network Security in which monitior & controls the incoming and outgoing network traffic. It Can be Implement Both Hardware & software. Firewall is always useful for allowing remote access to a private network through secure authentication & logins.

A firewall is a network security system, either hardware or software-based, that uses rules to control incoming and outgoing network traffic.

A firewall acts as a barrier between a trusted network and and an untrusted network. A firewall controls access to the resources of a network through a positive control model. This means that the only traffic allowed onto the network is defined in the firewall policy; all other traffic is denied.

Firewall is used to define the set of rules for network traffic. It is either software or hardware. It stops the un-trusted traffic. You can define set of rules in your way so you can stop the attacks or hack attempts on your server.

If your servers's bandwidth is utilized by the un-authorized IP addresses then you can block such traffic. You can block the particular port in the firewall so no one can access it.

You have option to allow IP or deny IP in firewall that is either allow those IP addresses to access your network or particular port or disallow them to access them some features on the server. The blocks will be automatically removed after some time as per the rule set in firewall.

Firewall is the best option to secure your server.

In computing, a firewall is a network security system that monitors and controls incoming and outgoing network traffic based on predetermined security rules.[1] A firewall typically establishes a barrier between a trusted internal network and untrusted external network, such as the Internet.[2]

Firewalls are often categorized as either network firewalls or host-based firewalls. Network firewalls filter traffic between two or more networks and run on network hardware. Host-based firewalls run on host computers and control network traffic in and out of those machines.

A firewall is simply a program or hardware device that filters the information coming through the Internet connection into your private network or computer system. If an incoming packet of information is flagged by the filters, it is not allowed through.

A firewall is a network device that blocks specific forms of network traffic, setting a bulwark between trusted and untrusted networks. This provides a defense against most computer attacks, however, embarking upon a search for the perfect firewall can be convoluted and confusing.

Firewall can monitor incoming traffic and block common security threats from reaching your website. This can help prevent brute force attacks and even DDoS attacks from compromising your online business/blog. Firewall originally is referred to as a wall, constructed to halt the spread of a fire. It is also known as a network device that blocks certain kind of network traffic building a barrier between a trusted and an untrusted network. It is equivalent to a physical firewall with respect to firewall security attempts to block the spread of computer attacks.

Software firewalls. Software firewalls are designed to protect a computer by blocking certain programs from sending and receiving information from a local network or the Internet. The image to the right shows the icon for Windows Firewall, an example of a firewall software program included with Microsoft Windows.

In the computing world, the terminology firewall security refers to a network device which blocks certain kinds of network traffic. Actually, it acts as a barrier between a trusted and an untrusted network. The firewall security wall can be compared to a physical firewall in the sense that firewall security tries to block the spread of computer attacks.

Today, businesses have understood the need for firewall security, thereby they have firewall protection in place.

Firewall is an application or a device that follows a set of rule(s) to perform a routinely security checks to DENY, REJECT or ALLOW any matching incoming and or outgoing datagram from your end system(s).

If you have a Web Server, you would want to allow incoming and outgoing datagram or packet on port 80 which is http, as well as port 443 (secure web using SSL https) then block the rest request.

Mail Server want to open certain port for sending and receiving emails. Nothing else should be allowed.

Firewalls have been a first line of defense in network security for over 25 years. They establish a barrier between secured and controlled internal networks that can be trusted and untrusted outside networks, such as the Internet.

A firewall can be hardware, software, or both.

A Firewall is like a gatekeeper - it helps to keep your computer safe by inspecting data coming from the internet and blocking any malicious traffic. Firewalls can also be used to block certain types of content, such as adult websites or programs that could compromise your security. So don't worry about online intruders—your Firewall has got your back!

Firewalls are an essential part of any secure network and can be invaluable when it comes to keeping your data safe. Not only do Firewalls keep bad traffic out, but they also provide an extra layer of protection against hackers and other malicious attacks. So make sure you set up a Firewall—it's the best way to protect yourself and your digital assets. Firewalls: the ultimate line of defense!
