How to use sitemaps in our websites ?

Please tell me about the sitemap processing !

Make sitemap in html for users and in XML for search engines.

Sitemap is collection of pages of website accessible by users or web crawler. there are 2 type of sitemap. 1st .xml or 2nd .html.
.xml file are designed for web crawler and 2nd one .html file for users.
