    Hi

410 refers to an HTTP status code, so whenever the browser or Googlebot asks for page, the Web server sends back a status code – 200 might mean everything went totally fine, 404 means page not found, 410 typically means gone, as in the page is not found and we do not expect it to come back,” Cutts said.

The server returns this response when the requested resource has been permanently removed. It is similar to a 404 (Not found) code, but is sometimes used in the place of a 404 for resources that used to exist but no longer do. If you never will have a page return on a specific URL, then 410 it.

Instead of using a 404 status code, it may be better to use a temporary 410 status code.

The 410 error means that the page requested used to exist at that URL, but it has been permanently removed.
Web servers should not generate 410 codes on their own your webmaster needs to set it up. Then, whenever someone clicks on a link to that page or otherwise tries to access it, they get the 410 error page. You can customize the 410 to show an explanation or tell your reader to click on something else
