    Adding the keyword in the domain do effect the EMD. If your website has the copied or spam contents using the same keyword in the domain like other websites then Google will penalised your website.

    So while using the keyword, you should make sure your website has the unique and quality contents on it.

    Keyword based domain are SEO friendly, more easy to rank in search results.

    EMD's ranking top three for their keyword within the past few month so there still seems to be ways to do it. IMO using an EMD would not get you a penalty, Google just turned down the effect using an EMD had on your SERP.

    No, because thousands websites ranking higher in Google having keyword in domain.
