When a search engine returns its search results, it gives you two types: organic and paid.

Organic search results are the Web page listings that most closely match the user's search query based on relevance. Also called “natural” search results, ranking high in the organic results is what SEO is all about.

Paid search results appears on top position at SERP with a button "ad" mentioned with all results. Only 4 paid results display at top position and again up to 4 results display at bottom after the organic results listing.

Organic results are the parts of SEO where Paid results are the part of SEM, PPC. The organic result is hard to get and require much time to earn the organic position on the SERP where Paid means to get instant results but for this have to have the good budget.

Organic search is based on unpaid, natural rankings determined by search engine algorithms, and can be optimized with various SEO practices. In contrast, paid search allows you to pay to have your website displayed on the search engine results page when someone types in specific keywords or phrases.

Paid results are basically advertisements — the Web site owners have paid to have their Web pages display for certain keywords, so these listings show up when someone runs a search query containing those keywords.

Direct traffic can include visits that result from typing the URL directly into a browser, as the simple definition suggests. Organic traffic, on the other hand, are those visits which are tracked by another entity — usually because they have arrived through search engines — but also from other sources.
