Google PageRank was a calculative software which determined the relevancy of one web page based on the number of quality backlinks it contains.

In other words, PageRank views backlinks as votes, which means if Page X links to Page Y, Page Y is voted by Page X. The job of PageRank is to interpret both the page content and find relevancy. The higher is the relevancy level, greater importance is ascribed to a certain page by Google which positively affects the organic result of that web page.

Page Rank (PR) is the total count, assumed by Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, which classifies the quality and quantity of links to a webpage to regulate an allied score of relevant page & its authority on a 0 to 10 scale.

PageRank (PR) is a mathematical formula that judges the “value of a page” by looking at the quantity and quality of other pages that link to it. Its purpose is to determine the relative importance of a given webpage in a network.

PageRank is a link analysis algorithm applied by Google.com that assigns a number or rank to every hyperlinked online page within the world Wide web. The basic purpose of PageRank is to list websites from the most necessary to the least vital, reflective on a research engine results page once a keyword search happens.

One of the ways to define the relevance of a website is to determine whether it is trustworthy or not. This can be determined by counting the number of links pointing to this site from other reputable sites. The more reliable the website is, the higher the weight of its outbound links.

The Page Rank is determined by a score between 0 and 10. Recently created sites without any inbound link have a PR of 0. The more links to the site, the more reliable they are , the higher the PR.
