"Nofollow" provides a way for webmasters to tell search engines "Don't follow links on this page" or "Don't follow this specific link."

    Nofollow Link:

A nofollow link does not automatically ensure that the target site will not be crawled.

It is the HTML attribute that is used to restrict SE crawlers not to crawl that link and No-Follow links don't pass the link juice.

When a website links to another website, but the link has a Nofollow tag, that link does not pass the link juice.

Nofollow links are not useful concerning the ranking of a page, as they do not contribute anything. In general, a webmaster uses the Nofollow tag when he is linking out to an unreliable site. Example: Links from comments on other blogs.

Nofollow links attributes do not allow search engine bots to follow link. That means if the website owner is linking back to you with nofollow attributes, it does not pass on link juice. Only Humans will be able to follow the links. Though some time back Google made it clear that they don’t consider nofollow link attributes but weightage of such links are really less. Even though, it’s a good practice to use Nofollow link attribute to those link, where you don’t want to pass link-juice.

No-follow link intended to reduce the effectiveness of certain types of search engine spam, thereby improving the quality of search engine results and preventing spam indexing from occurring. I think it's benefit for do follow links.

No-follow links is an HTML attribute to tell the SE crawlers not to crawl that particular link.
