No I don't think so keywords are required in the domain name for SEO. You can use keywords in inside page URL or in blogs URL.

It is just logical to think like that. If you have an email service, logically, email.com will be a great domain. It was earlier told that having key words in domain does help in SEO.

Google too might give preference to keyword stuffed domain name. If you check the SEO services, most of them have the word " SEO " stuffed into their domain, no matter what they say of about it.

Google changed it’s algorithm, so websites that used domain names like that wouldn’t rank just for the simple fact that the keyword was in the domain name. And yes, that used to be the case, before the update.

You are wrong, keyword in domain still works, just don't spam anchor links to it.

Not sure about others but I prefer brand keywords rather than keywords in domain. It simply restrict you into a certain niche, that's why.

    Why not, Extra benefits.

But the only sad cases was...mostly taken by others and not too good in visual with long name

Domain name with SEO not only easy to ranked, but also makes relevant whenever visitors saw your name..

It is not necessary as it was some years back. And, if you choose the unique and attractive, short and easy to remember domain to your website then that is better.
