Domain name has a specific life cycle.

Check where your domain is at present, you can calculate when it can be available. Once it is available for registering, contact the domain provider and register the domain

It's very easy to update domain name if it's expired. Log in your account from which hosting company you've purchased the domain. Go to your expired domain and click update option. Then follow the next steps.

    Log into your Name.com account.
Click on the ACCOUNT tab, located at the top, select TOOLS and then select RENEWAL CENTER.
Under Expired Domains, click Renew next to the domain name you want.
Click the Shopping Cart icon in the upper right.
Follow the instructions to complete the order.

It can vary from one domain registrar to another. Just login and renew it..If it's already expired you could be too late.

A domain expires when the owner does not pay the renewal fee. When a domain registration expires, it becomes available for a new registration
