Magento is best for e-shops.
Wp is best for simply sites or blogs
Joomla for articles/news sites

Yes, I feel the same, I got opportunity to update and maintain a old version Joomla website that was a pain for me and I did not find anything for free even the update to next version, you have to buy some plugin to do the same, but in other platform it is just a click away.
