A gTLD (generic top-level domain name) is the top-level domain name of an Internet address that identifies it generically as associated with some domain class, such as .com (commercial), .net (originally intended for Internet service providers, but now used for many purposes)

Generic top-Level domains (gTLDs) square measure one in all the classes of top-ranking domains (TLDs) maintained by the net appointed Numbers Authority (IANA) to be used within the name System of the net.

A gTLD's generic top-level domain is a top level domain (TLD) category that is easily recognized by a suffix attached to a domain name. gTLD Program is an initiative coordinated by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), that is enabling the largest expansion of the domain name system.

Generic top-level domain (gTLD) are TLDs that are not tied to any specific country and are "generic" in terms of being able to be used by anyone on the Internet anywhere in the world.

gTLD is Generic Top-level Domains. We have 2 types of gTLD: unSponsored gTLDs (such as: .com, .net, .org, .name) and sponsored gTLDs (such as: .shop, .mobi, .jobs, .travel); some new gTLDs (such as nTLD: .fun, .web, .link, .club, .click).

gTLD- are most common domain names which you are familiar with, such as .org(organisation), .net(network), .biz(business)
Additional gTLD are available which are of top tier and need permissions in order to access such gTLD ex-.edu(education) .gov(government)
    .mil(military)

gTLD stands for generic top-level domain and is an Internet extension such as .com, . net or . org. Right now there are roughly two dozen gTLDs, but soon, there could be hundreds. Any established entity located anywhere in the world can apply to form and operate a new gTLD Registry.

gTLD is a generic top-level domain. A top-level domain (TLD) means something to the right of the dot in the domain name and is sometimes called a domain extension. "General" means that search engines consider them universal, not bound to any region.
