    1. A solid domain name. Yes, competition for good domain names is getting fierce. So, be flexible, but use good sense when choosing a domain. If your “.com” address is already taken, resist the urge to add a hyphen, or to go with the “.net” version. In the end, you’ll lose visitors with these options, so take a little extra time to get creative and find the perfect “.com.”
    2. Good content. Good doesn’t only mean interesting; it also means accurate, fresh and well-communicated. Remember, web visitors have short attention spans, so: be clear and succinct, use proper grammar (or spend a few bucks on a good editor), spell your words correctly, be accurate, be relevant, and update your content regularly. Blogs and social media updates are great ways to add fresh content, which not only keeps readers coming back, but is a good SEO strategy as well.
    3. Security. Of course, use strong passwords for your accounts. Also, if your site is built on a platform like WordPress or Magento, be sure to ask your web designer or web host about keeping the platform updated. In addition to adding new functionality, these periodic updates often address security issues found by other users and developers.
    4. Good navigation. Navigation is your site’s GPS. Take some time to visit your own site, and be sure key pages like Services or Products are easy to locate. Just as homes are easier to find with a good map, web content is easier to find with good navigation. If you don’t have it, your competition likely will.
    5. Testimonials. In today’s social world, shoppers increasingly rely on the feedback of others, even if they’ve never met them. Testimonials from a client or customer feel more genuine than sales copy written by the website owner. Resist the urge to make up your own testimonials — savvy visitors will catch you cheating.

Quality is the first thing anyone notice in a web hosting provider. We have to measure any web hosting company's quality on various manners as Reliability, Support, Price, Usability etc. It seems like a daunting task to select a good web hosting among all web hosting providers.

Reliability: The most important criteria for choosing a web hosting company is its reliability. Always choose a company that has high customer satisfaction rate and positive reviews from its existing and past customers. To start with, make a list of potential web hosting companies and search their reviews online. Take a note of the duration of a company’s association with its customers. Longer the association is, more reliable is the web hosting company.

Support: At times when you find your website server down or face any other technical problem with hosting, you rely upon customer support to solve them. A good web hosting company should have 24 hours customer support, live chat service, and email service to offer support to customers. Check out the customer support reviews of the company to find how fast and effective it is.

Price: Price is another important criterion. Look at the various web hosting packages offered by a company and select one that suits your need. The most popular pricing package is the shared web hosting solution that offers low and flexible prices. Especially, for small businesses, a shared web hosting solution proves to be best deal. Many web hosting companies also offer a yearly discount plan. However, it is not always good to go with the cheapest. Quality, reliability, and support are more important than the price.

Usability: Finally, the usability of the web hosting interface should be tested. It should have an easy to use control panel helpful for effectively managing a website.

Some people might look upon certain technical preferences, however majority of business owners look for the given four factors in their web hosting company.

    Hope it helps!!!

In my experience i have seen many webhost. They had different control panels, different server configurations, different support systems.
At the end of the day all i want is for my websites to be online and to be fast.
I do not tolerate downtime and i do not tolerate stupid responses from the support.

There are so many choices when it comes to hosting a web site that it can be a daunting task to find a web host that is suitable for your needs. In this article, Starbucks is used as a metaphor for nine of the most important qualities in a good web hosting company.

    Pricing

Not all web hosting are built equal. Majority of the shared hosting costs below $15 per month. Lowest could be a few dollars.

My advise is NOT to go for those really cheap hosting or not reputed ones. They have higher chance to flop. At the same time, big brands (at times) oversell their hosting space which could affect your website loading speed if you are unlucky.

    3. Backups

You need to backup your site (and make sure your web host offers that). I noticed many people tend to overlook this.

Great approach to discover a host is to contact the present clients of your preferred web have supplier and check whether they are happy with the sort of administrations being rendered by the web have organization. Pleasantly portrayed every one of the characteristics. You must be clear what you are anticipating from you web have and what they will give you so I propose do some examination before choosing a web have organization.
