Angry Easyspace - banner removal fee - are they for real?

I've just come off the phone to Tolu in Glasgow in amazement. I've been trying to remove their own intrusive advert off my home page - but it turns out it's one they write it in themselves and there's nothing I can do but pay £36 to remove it.

    Robbing b******s

    I didn't pay I hasten to add.

I spoke to 3 staff. One nice Techie said speak to Sales. Grumpy Sales said speak to customer services. Customer services said pay.

I said 'your website says all sites paid for after 2004 don't have a banner so why do existing customer [since 2003] have to cough up to remove an old ad for £36? We still pay £25 for the package same as new customers!"

Easyspace, "oh, well, new customers since 2004 don't have the option to remove the banner"

Me, "so that's alright then is it - lucky them. Let me speak to someone who understands my question please"

    Easyspace, "no"

I hang up after the red curtain falls down over my eyes after much arguing about this ridiculous rule they've invented since they were taken over and I go and repeatedly hit my head against the brick wall outside.

What an utterley ridiculous marketing failure from Easyspace.

I hope Angus the Director and lots of Easyspace customers read this post - 3 years and they treat you like you don't know anything. I work in Marketing ffs - your customers know when they're being ripped off!!!

I'm going to move from these call-centre-charlatans to a better company - any recommendations much appreciated. I currently use the lower £25 host package (Gold). Up 'til today, I was ok with this company, but now

    Rant over and out.

Go To: http://www.bannerkillers.net and ask them to write the code for you... You may have to provide your username and password as they won't have an account... But if you are happy to do it, they will give you the code for providers not already listed...
