It depends on what you mean by effecting your ranking. Poor hosting where a site is always offline or very slow will impact your ranking in Google. As long as your hosting is adequate, though, then it is unlikely to make a big difference. Being hosted in the country which you are targeting is useful. For example, if you are targeting google.fr it is best to be hosted in France, if targeting google.de then it is best to be hosted in Germany.

A most detrimental type of web host may impact your Search engines position but it is not the other way around. Since it is a primary infrastrucutre for your internet site you need your internet site always going for online existence.

Well Google consider page load time in SEO, so if your host is not good than you might have to suffer that's why people talk about reliable hosting server so that they can have maximum server uptime and quick response time.

There is no relationship between webhosting and google ranking . I think google rankind depends on your quality link by directory , article , blog and other types of internet marketing issue

Hosting has an effect on search engine optimization. For example if you're hosting a site and your clients are based in USA. You should get a host that has their server in USA with an USA IP.

A worst hosting could have an effect on your Google ranking however it's not vice versa. Since it's a basic infrastructure for your web site you wish your web site continually running for on-line presence.

not necessarily but if your hosts are banned and you have hosted on them then it is likely your site will get banned too.

…if you find a great deal in a particular country, and you really want to stay with that country for your web server … i think that’s fine.
