Yeah ! Meta tags are very important and i think it main thing to do any website on page seo, and meta tags means whcih tags and wording ralted your website you want to use like according to google we can add 8 -to - 9 tags maximum against any website ..

Meta Tag is damn real important while it not only provide to your searcher to click on it and also provide the information and keywords to notice google that your site content will be related with those keywords and content.
That is why never go for offsite SEO until you optimize your onsite SEO completely and correctly.
Because whenver you create your backlinks, google will know your site content is all about with your meta and how your site related to the site that you build the backlinks.
They will identify is it related or the backlinks is a spam .
