ALT tag is very useful for the images for it helps search engines to crawls that images. according to that search engine gives ranking to that images so it 's very useful for for the site.

If you use a same content in different page, it is not good, but only same img with different alt tags, I think that is OK.

The image's Alt Tag and title tag is not having a very big impact on SEO rankings and traffic, though to make your image more SEO friendly these tags are used, as we hear that Google is not reading images, so the alt tag is used to inform the Google the text against the image and in future Google is remember that image with the alt tag name that you used. And the title tag is for user, as they move that pointer on the image and then they saw a text that text is the title text, used to show text to user.
