Colocation allows you to place your server machine in someone else's rack and share their bandwidth as your own. It generally costs more than standard Web hosting, but less than a comparable amount of bandwidth into your place of business.
Colocation (also known as ‘co-location’ or ‘colo’) is the practice of housing privately-owned servers and networking equipment in a third party data centre. Instead of keeping servers in-house, in offices or at a private data centre.

Yeah, colocated hosting is similar to dedicated hosting.
@kaufenpreis you have explained the concept of colocation beautifully. I have only one question that if I live outside USA and want to avail colocation service, is that possible? Can i order server from internet and the thing can be shipped to data centre and they install it for me. Or the procedure is all different from what I'm thinking.
