From where can I find a free platform independent FTP?

    Hi all,
I am a business man and most of the time I have to transfer my files to my employees and partners. I am in the search of a free & independent platform, FTP and SFTP which needs no software installation and which can provide me high security. Does anyone have idea about platform independent FTP? Please suggest me.
    Thanks in advance!

Check out Filezilla. It is an open source project and maybe you can configure it to run from your own PC.

Some FTP clilents may lose the connection to the server when downloading large files. You should use resume supported FTP clients. Hence, I request you to use FileZilla FTP client to download this file. You can download FileZilla from the below mentioned link:

FileZilla is a free open source, cross platform FTP client. Available for both Windows and Linux, it supports FTP, SFTP (FTP over SSH), and FTPS (FTP over SSL/TLS).This is the one to use .Try it and let us know.

    Hello,

If you want to use FTP without using the external clients, then you need to make your PC publically accessible by getting a dedicated public IP. Install an SSL in your C along with nice firewall so that you are secured. Then you can use the internal FTP services provided by your PC OS to transfer the files.

    Thank you.

FileZilla is surely among the best open source platforms. I even found some open source search platforms like Solr (http://www.lucidimagination.com/Down...eference-Guide) quite decent in functionality.
