Hi, Vector graphics is the use of geometrical primitives such as points, lines, curves, and shapes or polygon(s), which are all based on mathematical expressions, to represent images in computer graphics. "Vector", in this context, implies more than a straight line.
Vector graphics are based on vectors (also called paths, or strokes) which lead through locations called control points. Each of these points has a definite position on the x and y axes of the work plan. Each point, as well, is a variety of database, including the location of the point in the work space and the direction of the vector (which is what defines the direction of the track). Each track can be assigned a color, a shape, a thickness and also a fill. This does not affect the size of the files in a substantial way because all information resides in the structure; it describes how to draw the vector.
You can use Adobe Illustrator or Corel Drow to make a Vector images...

The advantage of vector graphics is that it is independent of the resolution and takes up very little memory. The same image can be displayed in low or super high resolution and can be scaled without loss of quality.

Resolutions are increasing every year, as it can be seen in the example of "retina trend" which appeared in the latest version of the Apple iPad device.

The jump in the number of pixels the screen is huge, and it is certain that such a resolution will soon be standard on all laptops and desktop devices. The perfect solution to this technological development is the use of vector graphics in web design.

Browsers that have basic support for SVG graphics as Internet Explorer 9 +, Firefox 4 +, Chrome 4 +, Safari 4 + and Opera 9.5 +. Total support for SVG is around 80%.

In short, web designers can use SVG graphics much more than they use today.

Same as object-oriented graphics, refers to software and hardware that use geometrical formulas to represent images. The other method for representing graphical images is through bit maps, in which the image is composed of a pattern of dots. This is sometimes called raster graphics. Programs that enable you to create and manipulate vector graphics are called draw programs, whereas programs that manipulated bit-mapped images are called paint programs.

Vector-oriented images are more flexible than bit maps because they can be re-sized and stretched. In addition, images stored as vectors look better on devices (monitors and printers) with higher resolution, whereas bit-mapped images always appear the same regardless of a device's resolution. Another advantage of vector graphics is that representations of images often require less memory than bit-mapped images do.

All the shapes are called vector and designing with these shapes is called vector designing.

Nice post, Thanks for sharing, Basally Vector design is type of geometric primitives like as factors, some collections, forms, and forms, these all are depending on statistical expression, to signify pictures in computer design. "Vector", in this perspective, indicates more than a directly line.

    Hi,

Unlike JPEGs, GIFs, and BMP images, vector graphics are not made up of a grid of pixels. Instead, vector graphics are comprised of paths, which are defined by a start and end point, along with other points, curves, and angles along the way. A path can be a line, a square, a triangle, or a curvy shape. These paths can be used to create simple drawings or complex diagrams. Paths are even used to define the characters of specific typefaces.

Because vector-based images are not made up of a specific number of dots, they can be scaled to a larger size and not lose any image quality.

    Thanks

Vector graphics uses geometry and mathematical values to render an image on a webpage. No matter how you zoom in or out, the image looks smooth.

vector graphics is the graphics which made from the mathematical tools like rectangle, line, circle, polygon etc.
it does not depend on the resolution and have define colors
