W3C Web Design and SEO Rankings

    Hello All

I would like to know whether W3C validated websites rank higher as compared to non-validated websites.

We have seen several examples where W3C validated websites are ranking exceptionally high. Take for example WIKIPEDIA.ORG.

Did anyone else observed this phenomenon, or I am just getting too obsessed with W3C Validated websites

I feel W3C validation is one of the factors affecting your rank. If you have a W3C validated website only and you did not pay to the other important ranking factors you will end up with a page rank of 0. If WIKIPEDIA was not W3C validated it would still rank as high. I have seen many sites which rank very high but comes nowhere near to w3c validation.

I think that it doesn't depend on what software is used. Content is the main thing for search engines

Yes ! Ofcourse W3C Validation is just one of the SEO friendly factors. We were working on one website which was penalized OR sandboxed. Once we implemented W3C Validated design, the site achieved top rankings capturing several high ranking keywords.

It could be possible that search engines find it easier to crawl a W3C website since they do not contain any HTML errors.

But I also have seen so many websites, having top search engines rankings without passing the validation procedure.

I have even seen many websites containing hundreds of errors in their codes yet ranking very high on Google and the other search engines.

Having powerful links and great content are more important.

I think by adhering W3C your site get easily spidered & you get greater control over the content. No doubt, there’s value and SEO leverage for the site which follow w3C guideline.

In SEO w3c validation is just a single factors out of many factors. The main thing is how many quality backinks do your site has and Quality content which bound your visitor to you site..

Yes, I do agree with you. W3C Validation is just one of the SEO friendly factors. If your site is W3C validated, it's good and you don't need to worry much if your site has not passed W3C Validation.

I reason by observing W3C your site gets easily spidered and you get better control over the web based site or online content we might need.
