the main problem with anti virus's is they slow your computer down alot. unless you have a really nice computer build then you will notice the difference. Microsoft security essentials doesnt use as many resources. but norton is a resource hog...

I use Avira. It got 90% virus detection rate (and elimination) than other anti-virus software. AVG and Avast are great only if you purchase the paid versions. Their free versions just detect them but don't cure them.

I use AVG on my home computer and Norton at work. Most reputable anti-virus will get the job done 99% of the time.

Does anyone see any reason why one would jump out as much better than the others? Or do you use your antivirus just because that's the one you've always used and you're familiar with it?

Microsoft Security Essentials or Windows Defender in Windows 8. It does the job.

Yes for commercial use, Norton Security is the best solution. It scan, detect and remove viruses or any other harmful malware from the root. I recommend Norton Security.

I've been using NOD32 for at least 5 years now and doesn't compare to any others. The resource usage is very minimal when compared to other antiviruses.
