    SHA-1 Encryption Cracked!

What do you think? Is it still safe to buy anything online? ChoicePoint sold 500 million records to phony companies, World Bank got hacked and now the SHA-1 encryption protocol has been cracked by a Chinese team. The hackers won't be far behind, especially now that the method the Chinese used has been published.

I suspect it will take a bit longer to exploit such a crack but certainly could eventually put a damper on eccommerce and speed up quantum encryption.

Even more dangers lie in simple phishing scam emails which have increased dramatically since the end of December 04.

Best Wishes for a Safe Shopping Experience and quantum encryption!
