XHTML is same as HTML with some minor difference, it is one next step in the evolution of the internet. XHTML gives you a more strict syntax rules in compare with HTML. XHTML gives you a more consistent, well structured formet so that your webpages can be easily parsed and processed by present and future web browsers.

XHTML (Extensible HyperText Markup Language) is a family of XML markup languages that mirror or extend versions of the widely used Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), the language in which web pages are written.

XML is a markup language where documents must be marked up correctly and "well-formed".

XHTML is almost identical to HTML 4.01 with only few differences.

XHTML is, actually, the follow-on version of HTML 4. You could think of it as HTML 5, except that it is known as XHTML 1.0. In XHTML, all HTML 4 markup elements and functions (the language of HTML) will keep be strengthened. In contrast to HTML, however, XHTML can be extended by anyone that uses it. New elements and functions can be described and involved to those that already are available, developing possible new techniques to consist of content and growth in a Web page. In overall look, an XHTML pc computer file looks like a somewhat more complex HTML pc computer file.
