    One way links to your site are the most secure as you have no influence over who links to your site so I don't think the web search tools can punish for this. Unless the site linking to you has been included in exercises grimaced upon on the past, there is no danger to you.

    Two way linking is about relevancy and user journey, if you get that right it should have some effect on SEO.
