Semantic HTML is HTML that introduces meaning to the web page rather than just presentation. For example, a
tag indicates that the enclosed text is a paragraph. This is both semantic and presentational, because people know what a “paragraph” is and browsers know how to display them. In HTML4* tags like and are not semantic, because they define only how the text should look (bold or italic) and do not provide any meaning to the text.

Semantic HTML is the use of HTML markup to reinforce the semantics, or meaning, of the information in webpages and web applications rather than merely to define its presentation or look. Semantic HTML is processed by traditional web browsers as well as by many other user agents.

Semantic HTML tags are tags that convey meaning beyond the simple presenational value that they provide in a browser.

Semantic HTML is a HTML that give meaning to web page rather then presentation. For example -
tag is a semantic HTML because it give meaning to text. Everyone knows p stands for paragraph and you can write text in it where as cannot give meaning to text, it is just used to decorate the text.

Semantic HTML gives a better meaning to the code, which increases the useability of HTML from just creating look of page to having a better and meaningful information. For example, in semantic HTML instead of using tag for italics, we use tag which stands for "emphasis". So it creates the usability of HTML code.

Semantic HTML tags provide information about the contents of those tags that goes beyond just how they look on a page. Text that is enclosed in the
tag is immediately recognized by the browser as some type of coding language.
