When you redirect your domain name using a 301 redirect, it sends visitors to the specified site with a "301 Moved Permanently" HTTP response. The HTTP 301 response code tells user-agents (including search engines) the location has permanently moved. A 302 redirect sends visitors to the specified site indicating a "302 Found" HTTP response. The HTTP 302 response code tells user-agents (including search engines) that the location has temporarily moved.

A 301 redirect can provide a long-term solution by pointing your domain names to business or affiliate sites. A 302 redirect points your domain name to a temporary page while you build your permanent website. The specific redirects help the search engines distinguish how long your website can be viewed at the current location.

301 - 301 redirect means that the page has permanently moved to new location.
302 - 302 redirect means that the page move is temporary.

A 301 redirect,or also known as a permanent redirect, should be put in place to permanently redirect a page. A 301 redirect is implemented if the change you want to make is well permanent.
A 302 redirect, or also known as temporary redirect, should be put in place if you want to redirect your site visitors into another webpage but you plan to bring the redirected page back after sometime. The redirtected page will still retain its pagerank, page authority, Moz rank and traffic value.

301 is the permanent redirection of the website to the new location, whereas 302 is the temporary redirection of the website or webpage.

    301

Is a permanent type of Web forwarding which tells search engines that your domain name will be permanently pointing at the new location. It ensures the final destination page is indexed correctly by search engines like Google.

    302

Is a temporary type of Web forwarding that tells search engines your domain name forwarding may change again soon. It does this so that search engines can continue checking the domain name – which means the final destination page may not get indexed properly by search engines like Google.

301 Redirection is the process of permanent redirection to one website to another website. And 302 redirection is the process of Temporally redirection.

A 301 redirect, or also known as a permanent redirect, should be put in place to permanently redirect a page. The word ‘permanent’ is there to imply that ALL qualities of the redirected page will be passed on to the detour page.

A 302 (found) status means the resource is temporarily located elsewhere. The client should use the given location for the current request, but in the future should continue to use the old location.
