Cloaking is the technique in which we are using the hiding content that is not for users, only for crawlers. But this is one type of black hat SEO technique.

The purpose of cloaking is to deceive the visitors by providing them different content from the original site page and this is for increase rankings and traffic which is considered as violation of Google's guidelines.
