Domain authority is a measure of how authoritative a given domain is. Domain authority is determined by number and quality of inbound links to a domain and is a major determiner of search engine rankings. But I think it's not important. My website has 51 DA but maybe rank worse than a website has 29 DA

Domain Authority or Domain Rating is an SEO term which is used to rank the website based on the On-page and Off-page optimization.
DA is actually introduced by Moz when Page Rank confirmed dead.

Domain Authority (DA) is a score developed by Moz that predicts how well a website will rank on search engine result pages (SERP). Domain Authority scores range from one to 100, with higher scores corresponding to a greater ability to rank.

Domain Authority combining many of our other link metrics — linking root domains, number of total links, MozRank, MozTrust, etc. — into a single DA score. This score can then be used when comparing one site to another or tracking the "ranking strength" of a website over time.

According to my research about it, Domain authority or DA relates to the score developed by MOZ that can tell how a site or domain ranks in search engines result.

Domain authority is a score that is assigned by MOZ. Instead of page rank now domain authority is used for SEO.

Domain authority is one of the main factors that define how well your website will rank in search engines. In the “old days”, a website was weighed based on its page-rank.

It is a metric that is created by Moz. It allows rating the website on the scale of 1-100 where (100 is given to the best website and 1 is given to the worst).
