Adrank is a formula by Google to determine your ad position

Adrank = Cost per click x Quality score

So imagine you are your competitor has same bid say $1 but your QS is higher than his, then your ad will appear above his ad.

Position of your ads in Google SERP

    Ad rank formula depends on

    1. cost per click (CPC) bid
    2. quality score
    3. expected impact from ad extensions and formatting

Making sure each of these areas is top quality is the best way to get to the top of the SERP.

Ad Campaign Bid + Quality Score=AdRank. AdRank success can be optimized by increasing your bid, or Quality Score, or both. Before you get started, it is a good idea to check your ad position on Google and how often it displays.
