What is pirate Update?
Google's Pirate Update is a filter introduced in August 2012 designed to prevent sites with many copyright infringement reports, as filed through Google's DMCA system, from ranking well in Google's listings.
In this update if the website is having a copyright issue with another website then Google will penalize the website which has the pirated content.
This Update is also known as “DMCA Penalty”. DMCA stands for Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
Nice. Thanks for giving such information.
The Pirate Update — similar to other updates like Panda or Penguin — works like a filter. Google processes all the sites it knows about through the Pirate filter. If it catches any deemed to be in violation, those receive a downgrade.
