Do-Follow link informs search engines to follow the link and consider it for ranking the websites whereas No-Follow link informs search engine not to follow and drop it for ranking purpose.

Nofollow links contain rel=nofollow attribute in an anchor text. It is directive to search engine not to crawl the information on such link, while dofolllow link does not contain such attribute or their rel="" attribute remains empty.

Nofollow links do not allow search engine bots to follow link, it does not pass on link juice

    Example of Nofollow Link:
    <a href=”http://www.google.com/” rel=”nofollow”>Google</a>

Dofollow links allow google (all search engines) to follow them and reach our website. it does not pass on link juice and a backlink.

    Example of Dofollow Link:
    <a href=”http://www.google.com/”>Google</a>

Links that “point” to another site are called do follow links. These pass link juice to a page, help to increase its Page Rank and raise its profile to the search engines. The more natural do follow links a website/page has, the higher it is likely to rank online.
A no follow link is a link that doesn’t “point” to another site (no signposts). I think this is where people get confused, as people can still click onto a no follow link and get sent to another site, but in the eyes of the search engines they don’t “point” to anything.

Do follow and no follow are link attributes and contain instructions for search engine robots. Do follow links are crawled and indexed in search engines whereas no follow links are never crawled and indexed in search engines.

A do-follow link will pass the SEO strength, or "PageRank" of the page to the site that it links to. A no-follow link, in theory, will not do this. That's the main difference between the two.

Both are valuable links but search engines consider the do follow links because they permit the other links.
