Meta description is an important meta tag that is included in the head section of the web page.
Usually (but not always) Google will display the contents of the meta description below the title in the search results if the page appears in the search results.
Ideally the meta description should be a concise summary of the page contents , should have keywords if appropriate and induce the searcher to click on it.

Meta description are created under 160 character limit. It should be directly relevant to the page it describes, and unique from the descriptions for other pages.
A meta description can influence the decision of the searcher as to whether they want to click through on your content from search results or not. The more descriptive, attractive and relevant the description, the more likely someone will click through.

It's a set of HTML code that belongs inside the <Head> </Head> section of a web page. It is usually placed after the Title tag and before the Meta keywords tag. These short paragraphs are website owners probability to promote content to visitors and let them know exactly what the given web page has with respect to what they’re looking for.
