Alt Text is very important while using images in an article or webpage.

Alt Text describes more information about the image. It is important to add alt text to your images for the following reasons.

1. If you webpage fails to load or render properly then images will be shown as broke. So if you don't have an alt text for your image then the user/reader will not understand what the image is about.

2. For Search Engine Crawlers: Search Engine Crawlers don't what whether the image is about a cat or apple or a car, All that search engines understand is the alt text. It is from the Alt text that crawlers come to know whether it is a cat or apple or car.

Make sure that you use alt text that describes your image.

Besides Alt text might help you to rank to some extent.
