How do I slice up an image in Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended?
You use a calculator.
For example, lets say you want to cut a 2046 wide by 1365 high image into 3 horizontal sections of equal size:. 2048/3=672.666 pixels. Call it 672., rounding down.
Set your crop tool to 672 by 1365 pixels. Select the left side, copy it, and paste it into a new file (or if you prefer, into a new layer)
Go back to the original image. The original 672x1365 should still be selected. Select/Inverse, and crop the image. Now you have everything but what was in the section you copied to the new file.
Repeat until you have all 3 sections, and a tiny sliver of two pixels left over that you’ll throw away.
Obviously, the math will vary according to the way you want to slice the image into sections, for example , with the same example, if the sections are in the ratio 1:2:1 then you could cut of the left side at 2048/4 pixels, the right side at the same size, and the center at 2048/2 pixels.
