    The truth about UNLIMITED hosting

Many web host providers now offer their clients unlimited which is incredibly surprising. You have to ask yourself something: have you ever bought something that has not limit to it? The answer is an emphatic no.

The term "Unlimited" is a gimmick used by web hosting companies to get you to sign up.

Before you sign up with any web host company, make sure you read their terms of service(TOS) because most of those companies are covered in the sense that they never offer you an unlimited package instead they offer you a specific amount of hosting which is usually found in the TOS.

I can assure you that once you use more than the treshold allocated to you, you will be contacted by your host.

I'm not implying that a host is not good simply because they claim to offer unlimited service. Afterall many host companies are guilty of this.

You have to also understand that there are some features that can be unlimited, like : Email, sub-domains, addon-domains etc.

Saw this same debate elsewhere, and it became pretty apparent that there are certain services that just cannot be unlimited. There is always a limit somewhere along the line. It may be so high they don't expect anyone to require it though.

For example, unlimited bandwidth. Impossible. There has to be a maximum they have the ability to cope with.

unlimited bandwidth - if not limited by how much definitely limited by how much at a time. and then this restricts your visitors experience

I agree with you're post completely. But not all web hosts that offer 'unlimited' plans are bad a good example is HostGator.

Even the domains, emails, sub-domains are limited because they are limited by how much space is allowed on the hosting account.

    Hello Friends....

Unlimited – what a great word. It holds with it the imagination of never having to shop around again. A warm feeling stays with you as you continue to build up your collection of websites. You wish that this dream last will last forever. The problem is, although many web sites flaunt the unlimited plans in front of you, few actually allow “unlimited” usage.

    Thanks

There is no trouble with unlimited hosting and many reputed companies also doing the unlimited hosting because they have enough resources for doing that and their customers are also satisfied with their package and these companies are growing well.

Very good point for people who do not the truth about unlimited resources. It is a shame so many of the big names have gone the way of fronting with the unlimited resources as well. this is a low point for the hosting industry.
