Does it matter that the backlink is from same site?

Hi,
I need to know does it matter if the 100 back link coming from the same domain but different pages,

I mean if i m getting one back link from the domain with my anchor text is same with the one im getting 100 back links from the domain but different pages.and the same anchor text for all pages
how does google see that as 1 backlink or 100?

useless...Backlinks should be on the other site..not on the other page

I'm not big expert on this. But I believe that will be less effective then having the same from 100 different web sites

IP addresses of the links can definitely play a very bog role on the web and especially regarding Google rankings. This could be one of the reasons why many sites which offer free tools become very popular soon because some footer links from hundreds of sites are to be gained and all having different IPs.

For building backlinks I look for sites that deal in the same topics/products and have a good Google PageRank. If it is a quality website with good content, that matters more to me than the language of the site.
