Anyone know about the basic differences between the alert box and confirmation box within the website designing webpages....!

Alert box usually have only one button OK or it can be a self closing flash message/popup as well. ... Confirm usually have buttons like OK-Cancel, Yes-No, Abort-Cancel-Retry types. You read the confirmation being asked and then provide your suggestion to system by clicking appropriate button available in confirmation box.

An alert box displays some message for the user with just an OK button and will disappear when you hit that button.
A confirm box is like question posed to the user to decide between two things like for example “Press OK to proceed" else "CANCEL ".
alert() displays a dialog with only one button.
confirm() displays a dialog with two buttons: 'ok' and 'cancel'
