I found the Flatsome Woocommerce theme on eBay for $5. Themeforest.com has the same theme for $59. Does anyone here has any experience with themes from eBay and can tell me the difference? Will you trust eBay on this one? Thanks in advance!

For short term use, it's fine but for the long term use it's not recommended. It's always recommended to order the themes directly from the author.

Yeah, buying themes online always looks a little shady. It's probably taking away from the author, for starters, and while I'm not 100% familiar with how Woocommerce themes work there might be some weird license problems that arise from buying a theme 'used'. I'd try to save up and buy one direct from the source to avoid any potential weirdness down the road.

Well the Ebay seller is obviously selling it illegally, it could be "nulled" and contain viruses, backdoors etc, plus you won't be eligible for updates and bugfixes. It's never worth the hassle in my opinion, just support the developer and receive all the pro's and none of the cons.

Last but not least disadvantage of this plugin must be the require of knowledge to use it effectively. Sometimes when you want to update the store, it is hard for you to do by yourself if you don’t have the knowledge of both Woocommerce and WordPress. WooCommerce service providers or an expert developer is needed in this case.
