Permalink is the major part of the search engine optimization. It is the permanent link to your website's pages or posts. The main part while deciding the permalink is that there should be keyword in your URL. Post name structure is the recommended type of the permalink. It will look like /%postname%-%post_id%/.

If your domain name is short then you can use the category in the permalink. You can keep the file extensions like .html or .php in your permalink as it will help for the SEO. Shorter URLs are, generally speaking, preferable.

Catchphrase stuffing is a term utilized when you endeavor to infuse watchwords in a URL (post title or substance) in an unnatural path for the sole motivation behind streamlining for web search tool crawlers and not clients. To stay away from watchword stuffing in your URLs, do whatever it takes not to rehash a similar catchphrase more than once.

This type of permalink is not search engine friendly, so most newbie bloggers just starting with WordPress fail to create a site that is optimizing WordPress permalinks for SEO because they are using the default permalinks

A permalink or permanent link is a URL that is intended to remain unchanged for many years into the future, yielding a hyperlink that is less susceptible to link rot. Permalinks are often rendered simply, that is, as friendly URLs, so as to be easy for people to type and remember.
