Not to be cheeky, but how do you define “best”? Most of these responses look simply like advertisements for different features.

For me best means a search lets me find Search without faceting or filtering requires a lot of cognitive work on the part of the user. They have to guess at how your event space is organized (it may not match their mental model), and their experience is highly influenced by the major search engines. Furthermore, typing is error prone. Poor interactive experiences can lead to high abandonment levels.

Additionally, many of these have enormous lead space and tile photos, making for poor eye tracking.

Just because a pattern is trendy doesn’t mean its a good one.
