Links that “point” to another site are called do follow links. These pass link juice to a page, help to increase its PageRank and raise its profile to the search engines. The more natural do follow links a website/page has, the higher it is likely to rank online.

A no follow link is a link that doesn’t “point” to another site (no signposts).

Do-follow link is nothing but the link juice performed in the SEO. Link juice is the technique using which you used to pass the link from one website to another. Using it, you come to know that how powerful the linking between the one site to another or in-between is. The hyperlinks are used for it.

The important factor while ranking your website by the search engine is that how many quality links you have added. It is not like that if there are more number of links then search engine will rank your website on top, it depends on which type of links you have added.

The more authority a page has, the more link juice it will pass.

No-Follow link -

It is intended to reduce the effectiveness of certain types of search engine spam, thereby improving the quality of search engine results and preventing spamdexing from occurring in the first place.

Recently Google has said that they will still count the nofollow link as an outgoing link in terms of the distribution of page rank from your page. Though again it also depends on where that nofollow link is placed. Placing a nofollow link at the bottom of the page has the least impact, and when placed at the top of the page, it carries some impact.

The necessity of the nofollow tag highlights the crooked and spammy mentality commonly associated with SEO

Hlo Friends,
Differentiate between a do-follow and a no-follow link

Do Follow Link

When Google bots are crawling a website they look for external links point to other websites. If this links is “do follow” then search engines will follows the link and so link juice gets passed. For eg:
<a href=http://www.metabizverse.com rel=”do follow”> Metabizverse </a>

Notice the rel=”dofollow” and rel=”external” in the above code. They define the link as do follow. Also if you do not use rel attribute the link will be treated as ‘dofollow’. These links are important in terms of SEO as they are tracked by search engines and the value (which is called link juice) of the links also gets transferred.

No Follow Link
If a search engine finds a “no follow” backlink it will just ignore the link and will not get deeper into crawling and no link juice is passed. Fo eg:
<a href=http://www.metabizverse.com rel=”nofollow”> Metabizverse </a>
Notice the “nofollow” attribute in the above code. This defines a code as “nofollow”. So “nofollow” backlinks are not important in terms of search engines as it is not crawled. The comments section mostly have no follow links. But that does not mean that these links are useless. You can still get some quality traffic from these also.

Hi

Do Follow Links

Do Follow means crawling website links that point to another site. Here the link juice gets passed, and its easy to get high ranking in google. It also increases a website's page rank.

No Follow Links

No Follow means the crawler does not pass to another site, do not pass any link juice and has no effect on page rank even though it is considered as a backlink

I think in the seo process both no follow and do follow links matter
do follow count as back link to the site from search engine. It's important for site ranking to get quality back links.no follow doesn't count as back link to the site from search engine but it can be helpful as an traffic generate source if it's come from high pr sites.

Do follow and no follow are link attributes and contain instructions for search engine robots. Do follow links are crawled and indexed in search engines whereas no follow links are never crawled and indexed in search engines.

There is a lot of difference between no follow and do follow. It's like day and night.

There is a term called juice, which a website passes when it links to another website.
Here are major differences:

No follow:
Don't pass the juice
Consider the link as non-trusted
You don't get a benefit of the website's high PR.

Do follow:
Passes the juice
Consider the link as trusted
Benefit of website's high PR
Help is link building.
