An ad group contains one or more ads which target a shared set of keywords. You set a bid, or price, to be used when an ad group's keywords trigger an ad to appear. This is called a cost-per-click (CPC) bid. You can also set prices for individual keywords within the ad group.

Hello friends,

what is an ad group in Google AdWords?

When you place similar ads in one group, it is nothing but an adgroup you create. For instance, if you have 3 items for sale in women's category & in men's, you'll create a separate group for both.

An ad group can be compared to a ‘folder’ within a Google AdWords or PPC advertising campaign. It usually contains related keywords or phrases with multiple match types, as well as one or more advertisements, negative keywords, placements, topics and/or target groups.

A successful Google AdWords campaign should have a large number of ad groups within a campaign, so these can be individually tested with effective and/or relevant advertisements, keywords and settings.
