Google Panda is a change to Google's search results ranking algorithm that was first released in February 2011. The change aimed to lower the rank of "low-quality sites" or "thin sites", in particular "content farms", and return higher-quality sites near the top of the search results.

Panda is the official name of a Google algorithm update developed to reduce the prevalence of low-quality, thin content in the search results, and to reward unique, compelling content.
Google’s Panda algorithm assigns pages a quality classification, used internally and modeled after human quality ratings, that is incorporated as a ranking factor.

Hi

Google's Panda Update is a search filter introduced in February 2011 meant to stop sites with poor quality content from working their way into Google's top search results. Panda is updated from time-to-time. When this happens, sites previously hit may escape, if they've made the right changes.

Google Panda was partially an attempt to deter the creation of content farms and content mills, large sites where keyword stuffing was a significant component of SEO, and where human readers found that much of the data on the site was low-quality content.

The goal of Google Panda is punishing sites with low-quality content and rewarding sites with fresh, high-quality content.

Google panda update is connected with content spamming. Web pages published with copied contents, low-quality contents, contents with grammatical errors, spelling mistakes will be primarily affected by Panda update.

Google Panda was created to target sites that publish low-quality content and penalize them if possible.
